REVIEW: This story is one man's fight against time to find a cure for his kids fatal diease. Brandon Frazer is the father in search for answers. He tracks down Scientist Stonehill and asks him this question, "How much will it take to take your research into an enzyme that my kids could use to expand their lives past the age of 8."
Harrison Ford who plays Stonehill gives him the answer. Brandon Frazer doesn't bat an eye and says he'll get the money so he can set up a lab of his own and start producing the enzyme. Brandon Frazer and his wife go out and raise money to give Harrison Ford but it's not enough. Harrison Ford is surprised at how much money Brandon does raise but has another idea. He wants Brandon Frazer to sell the idea of their company adventure to scientists that also have the funds to see this project through. Brandon Frazer has the business sence and experience while Harrision Ford has the product to be sold.
This movie doesn't show the nitty gritty of twhat actually goes into taking care of two special needs children in wheel chairs. The wife played by Keri Russell is seen taking care of the children with the help of nurses that come to her house. It shows some struggles the couple endures but the main message of the movie is finding the cure and making it available to the masses. The movie is mainly about the father, Brandon Frazer and the scientist, Harrison Ford in search of the right enzyme to help Brandon's children and others like them live. They have one year to make Stonehill's enzyme, test it and have it in a form that they can market. They are raising against time. The syndrome Brandon's children have are not expected to live to be nine.
I love Brandon Frazer and Harrison Ford, they don't disappoint. I haven't seen Brandon in such a serious role before. It was gripping and believable.
I had no idea how medicines came about and all that went into making a drug FDA approved. It was an eye opener. I hadn't heard offthis disease either.
