FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES - TOOTHFAIRY

Synopsis- from AMC Theatre web page
Derek Thompson is a hard-charging hockey player whose nickname comes from his habit of separating opposing players from their bicuspids. When Derek discourages a youngster's dreams, he's sentenced to one week's hard labor as a real tooth fairy, complete with the requisite wings and magic wand. At first, Derek "can't handle the tooth" -- bumbling and stumbling as he furtively tries to wing his way through strangers' homes -- doing what tooth fairies do. But, as Derek slowly adapts to his new position, he begins to rediscover his own forgotten dreams.

REVIEW: Dwayne Johnson plays a has been hockey player who brings the drama to the ice and knocks players around until they lose teeth. Hense his name the "Tooth Fairy." Dwayne's character is in a relationship with Ashley Judd who has two children and he's trying to get on their good side.

One night Ashely's Judd's young daughter looses her tooth and Dwayne is about to tell her that the "Tooth Fairy" isn't real. When Ashley stops him and reminds her daughter of the wonder and magic of the Tooth Fairy. After this event Dwayne is summoned to "Tooth Fairy-duty" He is giving the "Tooth Fairy" a bad reputation. He has two weeks to do "Tooth Fairy Duty" Dwayne is horrified he has hockey games to play.

Billy Crystal is the man who shows Dwayne all the cool tricks the "Tooth Fairy" can use in order to get the tooth from the kids pillow and leave money behind. Billy Crystal is hysterical. His character looked very similar to that of who he played in "Princes Bride". You'll laugh until your sides hurt when Billy Crystal explains all these cool things he has to use. Very similar to when James Bond gets the low down on his special gagets.

Julie Andrews is always a delight in her movies this one is no exception. She plays the woman in charge of the fairies. Loved her in this. She had a small part but she was fun.

Over all this movie is not going to win any acadamy awards but you will definately laugh and have a good time. There is a good message about love and family in there. A good movie rental for sure.
