Targeted to children four to eight, That’s When I Talk to God mirrors the day of the typical child, creating an opportunity for readers to put the practices in the story to use in their own lives. Through beautiful illustrations and an engaging, familiar character, readers can relate to That’s When I Talk to God. Children will learn to go to God with their fears, their joys, their questions, and their desires. They will also learn the hows, whens, and whys of praying to the Lord in a way they can easily apply to their own experiences. Review: I loved the last book in this series and couldn't wait for the review copy of this book so I could read the next book in the series. I loved the illustrations and the message of this book. It's non-threatening and makes the child think about the different ways she can talk to God. Not just in church or at meal time but throughout her day she can stop and talk to God- pray!

"You know we can pray to God anytime we want to right?...You can pray about anything, anywhere, and anytime."

The authors show that you don't have to wait until super time or bed time to pray to God. The other thing they bring up is how to talk to God and what about? The authors suggest through their main character talking to her mom that all she needed to do was look outside and thank God for making such a beautiful world. You can also tell him how much you love him. They give other practical situations where a little one (or anyone would just pray). I really like the practicability of the book and the innocence of it.

I also liked the way it challenged the child to think outside the box and incorporate God in every minute of our lives. This is a great teaching tool and a way of opening up conversation with your child or students about prayer and how and when we are to talk to God. I highly recommend this book!
