ABOUT BOOK: Millions of readers have been transformed and inspired by Francine Rivers’ bestselling novels Redeeming Love and A Voice in the Wind. Now, in this weekly devotional, the beloved author invites you to join her in seeking the Creator through the marvelous natural world we live in. Francine shares observations she’s gathered over a lifetime of exploring―abroad and in her own backyard―and reflects on how they might apply to your daily life. What do the majestic redwoods, the persistent woodpecker, or a glorious sunrise reveal about our artistic and generous God? How could that change your outlook or the way you handle adversity?

Stunning photography, Scripture excerpts, applications, and prayers accompany Francine’s reflections, inspiring you to be encouraged. Be challenged. Be comforted. God’s power is immense; His attention to detail in precise; His love for you is vast and unfailing. The proof is all around you.

REVIEW: I was thrilled to receive a sample booklet of the devotional from Francine Rivers with lovely photos taken by Karin Stock Buursma. I was deeply been moved deeply reading many of this authors fiction novels. So, I was thrilled about this devotional. I couldn’t wait to read it.  The authors says in the introduction “…God is an artist, and the earth and the universe are his canvas. From the microscopic complexities of an atom to the immense, expanding universe with nebulae, black holes, and galaxies, God shows his power and majesty, his attention to detail, and his great and unfailing love for us. Jesus said if people did not praise him, “the stones will cry out!” (Luke 19:40 NIV)

…”A painting is not the painter, but the passion of the artist’s heart is revealed through his work. Karin and I hope this book will encourage you to look at the world God created and search for the subtitle messages that will expand your love for him and your desire for a closer relationship with him…Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes, ears, and heart to receive what God has for you.”

The same way in which this author describes the painting and the painter I feel that this devotion gives readers a peek into the passion of this author. The devotion starts out with scripture. Then a story from author on how something in nature spoke to her, then there are a few reflection questions for the reader to ponder. After that there is a section titled how to apply scripture to your life. She has another scripture passage along with an exquisite picture (that are included in every devotion) to help emphasize the scripture passage and the message.

I’ve been encouraged by the thought provoking messages in the booklet and moved by the pictures. I look forward to experiencing the entire book soon!
