ABOUT BOOK: Often, in the busyness of life, Christians forget that God created them to enjoy creativity. With guided instruction and completed examples, this beautiful book invites readers to draw closer to God through their own art.

More than a coloring book, ScriptureDoodle is a combination of Bible study, creative expression, and artistic community with artwork shared online at #scripturedoodle. Exploring topics such as being generous, finding rest, and facing grief, ScriptureDoodle gives the heart the creative space it needs. This book stimulates the reader’s imagination and helps integrate God’s Word into everyday life.

REVIEW: This is more than a coloring devotional, it’s a creative tool to help readers tap into their artistic side and learn how to worship in new ways. It also allows them to look at scripture in a whole new light. The author says, “Allow God to reveal his word to you visually, it aids in scripture memory and shares the truth of Jesus.”

The author walks the reader thru the best ways to use this 6 week devotional. There is a page on how to create borders, different ways to print the scripture’s and how to use different color shades when coloring. Nothing has to be perfect. It’s a way of stretching us to experience in a new form of worship!

I found her information on basic materials and coloring tips helpful. The first scripture she started with was 2 Cor 2:17 …”where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom!” She has a picture of a horse. I colored this first and meditated on the verse. I was surprised at how it turned out.

Most devotions have full pages to color with a commentary on the opposite page to help bring the scripture to life., This author mixes things up for readers. There are a few full pages to be colored, others she has started for you and asks you to finish, other pages are activities to bring scripture to life and some are pages with just boarders; leaving room for you to express yourself.

The author helped readers stretch in many ways creatively, learning scripture memory verses, and looking at this as a form of worship. There are no rights or wrongs. The author helps the reader to be free to make a joyful expression unto the Lord. It’s a win, win for everyone!
